Dr. Darcy Hardy is Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Director of the UT TeleCampus with the University of Texas System. Involved with distance learning more than twenty years, Dr. Hardy has undertaken a myriad of roles including those of teacher, curriculum designer, administrator, author, keynote speaker, president, board member, and board chair. Dr. Hardy has shared her expertise on task forces and committees which have worked to benefit not only Texas students, but also students across the nation. Through her many presentations and workshops she has shared lessons learned, successful strategies, and caveats on a wide array of topics from her own “in the trenches” experience and observation. A founding member and past president of TxDLA, and a recent president of the United States Distance Learning Association, Dr. Hardy has actively promoted the associations through leadership, scholarship, and collaboration with other distance learning professionals. Recognized as an innovator in the field she has spear-headed many projects through the UT System which have advanced instructional delivery to a variety of learners. Dr. Hardy is lauded as a visionary leader who has taken the field of distance learning into the future. TxDLA is “Texas proud” to call her one of our own as she takes her place among other distinguished distance learning trail blazers in the Texas Distance Learning Hall of Fame.
